Match Report |
It might be a tad strong to call CSI-Birchington's 2 - 1 defeat at the hands of CSI-Margate heartbreaking, but the manner in which they lost this one was harsh in the extreme. With little sign of organisation from manager Brian Gilbert, the key to this game is tactics. The only keys he'll have next match is for the team bus. It takes a good team to play the Counter Attack game effectively, and there was only one of those out on the pitch. Despite Liz Vassey coming on in the 0th minute, he failed to make the needed impact on the result. "Their keeper played very well," offered underfire CSI-Birchington manager Brian Gilbert. "And it wasn't the best pitch, the weather didn't help and the ref must have taken a bung, but I am not making excuses." On the plus side, the wounds from narrow defeats tend to heal quite quickly. CSI-Birchington need to pick themselves up and dust themselves down and go out there next time with three points the target. |
