Fortune favours the brave, so they say, and it was CSI-Broadstairs who were the bravest here snatching a 1 - 0 victory from under the noses of an unfortunate CSI-Westgate on Sea. With little sign of organisation from manager Brian Gilbert, the key to this game is tactics. The only keys he'll have next match is for the team bus. So impressive was Sasha Alexander's performance in the CSI-Broadstairs goal that his manager gave him a wet, tonguey kiss after this 1 - 0 result. The difference between the teams could have been their choice of playing style. Use Wings worked for CSI-Broadstairs. And didn't for CSI-Westgate on Sea. With not a single yellow card brandished by the ref, this game was so clean there was no need for the teams to wash their strips this week. The 0th minute change over of Eva La Rue for Liz Vassey, orchestrated by Brian Gilbert, made absolutely no difference to the final result. Under pressure CSI-Westgate on Sea boss Brian Gilbert told the local press: "I just felt that the whole night, the conditions and taking everything into consideration and everything being equal, and everything is equal, we should have got something from the game - but we didn't." Maybe this result will be a harsh lesson learnt for CSI-Westgate on Sea. Maybe next time they can try keeping their eye on the ball for a full 90 minutes. You never know.
