Match Report |
Cork city reds should be quietly confident about the rest of their season after a very pleasing 90 minutes' work saw them snuff out any threat Ð and there wasn't much - posed by Chumps FC in this 5 - 0 win. It's not just weights Chumps FC needs to lift. Their manager needs to lift their spirits in training too. He could start by tinkering with the Corners practice. Cork city reds goalie Jacques Strap was snapped up as a bouncer for the local nightclub after this game. Nothing was going to get past him. This result reads more like a tennis score than football. Chumps FC's defence would have faired better if they'd played the second half with tennis rackets. They were the pits. The animals went into the ark two by two for a very good reason, if there's an explanation why Chumps FC go out in 2 5 3 formation we're still looking for it. "The lads picked their heads up off the ground," glowed manager Liam Cotter with pride following this win, "they now have a lot to carry on their shoulders." The surprise here was that the score was only 5 - 0. It could have been a whole lot worse for Chumps FC and in a way, that's a small victory. |
