If you score more goals than your opponents, you win matches. It's obviously a concept that is proving a bridge too far for Swamp Donkeys FC who were indeed fortunate to only lose 7 - 4 against Bumbles FC.
Tactics? It doesn't look as though Swamp Donkeys FC boss Chris Copper could even manage three Shredded Wheat at the moment.
A goal with a unstoppable effort from 20 yards out rounded off an impressive game for Bumbles FC's new hero Renee Sance, who scored 2 times.
Bumbles FC's defensive strategy was too much for the counter attacking play of Swamp Donkeys FC.
Rick Kleiner and Dick Tater were both shown the yellow card after an off the ball incident led to them knocking each other out with a simultaneous headbutt.
The boss is meant to shape his team, Bumbles FC manager Mike Hawes does. But 4 4 2 is not the best shape for them.
"Their keeper played very well," offered underfire Swamp Donkeys FC manager Chris Copper. "And it wasn't the best pitch, the weather didn't help and the ref must have taken a bung, but I am not making excuses."
On the plus side, Swamp Donkeys FC do excel at something. Moaning. They could complain for their country and that is as close to national pride as these so-called footballers are going to get.
